This year at Crona Hotel & Spa we celebrated a very special occasion — the Beaujolais Nouveau evening that turned into a warm, almost intimate wine journey: from the light breath of the new harvest to the depth and wisdom of classic Morgon. This evening was not just an event for connoisseurs of fine wines — it was a presentation filled with elegance and the charm of French atmosphere. Guests of Crona Hotel & Spa were the first to discover the taste of the young wine of the new harvest, traditionally released on the third Thursday of November. In the cozy atmosphere of the Einselwad restaurant they enjoyed a tasting of Beaujolais from leading French producers, a carefully curated wine selection and author food-pairing from the Crona Hotel & Spa chef.
On the first evening the guests were guided by professional advice from our sommelier, who helped reveal the character of each wine and added sophistication and expertise to the evening. On the second evening the festive mood was created by Maria Stokolyas with live retro-jazz in an intimate setting, filling the celebration with even more noble lightness and unique charm. The atmosphere was filled with soft light, quiet French music and the whisper of glasses in which new impressions were born — perfectly complementing the three stages of the wine journey, each of which revealed its own character, mood and emotion.
This wine is like the first breath of a cool autumn morning. Young, lively, playful — it laughs in the glass, opening with aromas of raspberry, blackberry and fresh berries.
Style: fresh, light, carefree
Aroma: red berries, raspberry
Taste: silky, very clean — no added sulphites
Feeling: “This is the first note of the evening. Light, like the first string that sets the whole rhythm.”
The second glass seemed to speak to us in a quieter, deeper voice. This wine is like a peaceful French village where every cobblestone has seen thousands of stories.
Style: more harmonious, structured
Aroma: ripe cherry, delicate spices
Taste: soft tannins, noble balance
Feeling: “This wine is in no hurry. It tells its story gently, with a glance rather than words.”
The third wine became the culmination of our journey. Morgon is Beaujolais that has depth of emotion and weight of character — “wine with a heart”!
Style: serious, full-bodied and soulful
Aroma: dark berries, plum, warm spices
Taste: ripe fruit, structure, gentle tannins
Feeling: “A warm, long aftertaste… like a soft goodbye when you don’t want to let the evening go.”
Morgon was the exquisite finale of our evening wine journey.
And to make each wine sing fully, a special French menu was prepared:
• baked figs with soft Azur cheese, honey and nuts
• venison terrine Arnaud with cranberries
• poultry roast with nuts
• pate with blackberry flair
• roasted duck breast with apples
The dishes of delicate taste gently or boldly highlighted the character of the wines and helped to feel their depth.
Candlelight, guests’ smiles, soft music, the ringing of glasses — all of this created an evening filled with warmth and humanity. It was a true French celebration that we experienced in a Ukrainian way — with sincere emotions and openness.
The Beaujolais Nouveau celebration at Crona Hotel & Spa became a journey that everyone felt in their own way… but together we created its atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who was with us that evening and shared with us a bright cultural experience where taste, style and hospitality merged. We are already preparing new events to continue surprising you.
See you again at Crona Hotel & Spa — a place where every moment is filled with inspiration.
